How does it work?

The hydraulic juice press operation is very simple.
No electricity needed, all manually operated, less parts, less things to wear out, less complicated and  easy to clean up. You control how fast the tray is raised or how long it stays compressed. Press can be left compressed indefinitely.

Ground up fruits and vegetables are placed in a juice cloth.
Purpose of the cloth is to hold the semi fluid paste/pulp in the center of the lower food tray, also the cloth  acts as a filter, allowing juice to flow while holding the pulp inside.

The tray will be raised by the hydraulic jack by simply moving the actuating lever few times. The lower tray will be pressed upward against the upper fixed mounted tray.
Each time the handle moved up/down the tray moves up about 1/ 2 inch and stay in position.
Pressing  is a one hand operation  and does not require great strength to operate.
Ones the trays are fully compressed, it will stay in this position , until the pressure is released by opening a valve at the bottom of the hydraulic unit. 

Hydraulic advantage!
The hydraulic unit used in our press is rated 2 Ton = 4000 pound.
To put it in perspective, an average automobile, (full size family sedan's weight is about 3-4000 pound or a Chevrolet 1500 series pickup weighs about 4500 pound.) This is the amount of weight/pressure that will be applied to the pulp.

The biggest advantage of this hydraulic unit is that you control how fast the tray goes up. Each stroke of the handle the tray moves up and stays at its position, therefore the pressure stays on the trays /pulp until it is released.
You do not need to hold the handle.
You can keep the trays compressed and walk away.
Let the pressure do its work.
Allowing the trays to be compressed  will assure that all juice will be squeezed out of the pulp.

When you are done, simply open the hydraulic jack's valve and the two return springs will pull the stainless food tray to the bottom lowest position. The lower stainless food tray slides out of the machine and can be cleaned in a kitchen sink or dish washer.
